And OpenGL 4.5 works on both Windows and Linux. I’ll repeat, OpenGL 4.6 is still in BETA. OpenGL 4.5, which is the current version that most all modern video cards support, is a good viable option, with less overhead then it’s previous versions. Vulkan still has a long ways to go before it’s fully supported on all platforms. I am a Vulkan and OpenGL C/C++ programmer. Also, just because something is newer, doesn’t mean it’s better. OpenGL 4.5 and 4.6 are not “old” by any means. We don’t have any plans on supporting older graphics APIs like OpenGL or DX11 in The Machinery.
